Working towards a vision of becoming a more sustainable community, the Municipality of the District of Clare has been working on its project called the "Clare Energy Concept" since 2005.  With project management assistance granted from the South West Shore Development Authority (SWSDA), government funding was secured to conduct an energy audit of the Municipality, identify possible renewable energy projects and outline an implementation plan.

The product of this research and audit, the "Clare Community Energy Master Plan", is a detailed three-part document containing:

The Municipality hopes to be able to hire a Coordinator for the plan who would lead an awareness campaign, promote government programs that support energy conservation and reduction, and work closely with private industries that decide to move forward with renewable energy projects.
