Funding opportunities for organizations and individuals in the Municipality of Clare

Little Brook, NS – January 31, 2020: The Clare Volunteer Fair is taking place on the morning of Saturday, February 8, at the Clare Veterans Centre. Leading up to the event, the Municipality of Clare and Clare Recreation Services wish to remind you of the funding options for volunteer community groups, organizations and individuals to further improve or develop recreation and cultural opportunities for Clare residents.

Grants to Organizations
To help build a stronger community, the Municipality of Clare offers funding to non-profit groups and organizations in the form of grants. Candidates seeking financial assistance from the Municipal Council for the 2020-2021 fiscal year are asked to complete a form to apply.

Leadership Training Grant Program
This funding program’s objective is to increase the opportunity to support coaches, officials, community sport groups and individual leaders in their pursuit in NCCP and non-NCCP training and professional development.

Community Recreation Assistance Program
The Community Recreation Assistance Program is primarily designed to provide financial assistance to help offset the cost of participating in recreation programs for the benefit of residents of the Municipality of Clare.

Canadian Tire JumpStart Program
Canadian Tire believes all kids should have the chance to run, skate, play and grow. That’s why they have created Canadian Tire JumpStart, a community-based charitable program from the Canadian Tire Foundation for families that help kids in need participate in organized sport and recreational activities.

Clare Active Kids, Healthy Kids Fund
Funds are available to support local groups and organizations to improve health and physical activity levels of children and youth. These funds are thanks to a partnership with the Municipality of Clare Recreation Services, Valley Active Communities Committee (Nova Scotia Health Promotion) and the Clare Community Health Board.

Learn about the Volunteer Nova Scotia database (www.volunteerns.ca) and discover volunteer opportunities in Clare.

Join us on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Clare Veterans Centre. The Volunteer NS presentation will begin at 10 a.m. The Volunteer Fair will follow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
