COVID-19 NOTICE (Updated March 16, 2020)

Given the recent notice from the Government of Nova Scotia related to COVID-19, all of Clare Recreation's activities will be canceled until April 6th, 2020. This includes:
- All March Break activities
- Active seniors program (chair yoga, pool and pickleball)
- MultiSport
- Free bowling on March 22nd

This decision was made with the health and safety of our community at heart.
We ask that you use your own judgement, stay home if you have symptoms, seek medical advice by calling 811 and take precautions to prevent spread of illness.

 



 

SOCIAL DISTANCING BINGO

Practicing social distancing does not mean you have to stay home and sit on the couch all day. Check out our Social Distancing Bingo for some fun activities you can enjoy at home and outside! Send us a photo of you & your family taking part in the activities for a chance to win a prize! Photos may be submitted via email () or by sharing on social media using the hashtag #CLARERECATHOME

GEOCACHING - FEBRUARY - MARCH 2020

Bring the whole family and participate in this outdoor treasure hunting game. Clare Recreation has hidden 5 caches throughout the municipality. Each cache contains a number. Collect all 5 numbers, complete the passport and return your completed logs to the recreation services before the end of March for a chance to win a prize. As of February 1, you will be able to get the coordinates at Clare Recreation or by clicking on the passport link below.

Participants may borrow a GPS through our Equipment Loan Program (a refundable $25 deposit is required).


 

WINTER ACTIVE CHALLENGE

January 1 to March 31, 2020. Join in the fun by participating in our Winter Active Challenge and be eligible to win various prizes! Please contact Clare Recreation to receive your Winter Active Challenge tracking sheet, or download your from below.

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

Clare Recreation Services is accepting applications from students for the following summer employment opportunities: · Team Supervisor – 16 weeks · Advertising Specialist – 15 weeks · Special Events Coordinator (2 positions) – 14 weeks Successful applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a vehicle and must be able to communicate in both official languages.

Application Deadline: Friday, March 27, 2020, 4:30 p.m.

Please submit your resume along with the employment application form by mail, fax or email.

All positions are pending grant approval.


 

VOLUNTEER WEEK - APRIL 19 TO 25, 2020

Volunteer organizations throughout the Municipality of Clare will receive nomination forms to submit the name of a volunteer from their organization to be honoured at the annual volunteer recognition banquet to be held on Thursday, April 23, 2020 (Date to be determined). Be sure to return your nomination form by no later than Friday, January 31, 2020 so your volunteer may be recognized for his/her valuable work. Please contact Clare Recreation Services to ensure that your volunteer organization is listed.

COVID-19 UPDATE: In order to limit the spread of coronavirus to the population, the Municipality of Clare has suspended numerous activities and events, including the Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd, 2020. This event will be rescheduled at a later date. Once that date is confirmed, you will be receiving a new letter of invitation, including all necessary details regarding the event.

 

 


 

IN-SERVICE DAYS

On scheduled CSAP in-service days, we offer free activities, such as swimming, skating and bowling to encourage kids to get active. Check out our social media pages for updates.
