Firefighters and clare search and rescue honoured at the municipality of clare’s annual banquet

Little Brook, NS – March 30, 2019: Firefighters, Auxiliary, Board Members and Clare Search and Rescue were honoured at a banquet organized by the Municipality of Clare at the Clare Veterans Centre on Saturday, March 30.

More than 230 volunteers and guests were treated to a turkey dinner prepared by the Clare Veterans Association and served by the members of Council of the Municipality of Clare, a tradition for close to 10 years.

“We are very grateful for the volunteers from the eight fire departments and from the Search and Rescue service,” said Ronnie LeBlanc, Warden for the Municipality of Clare. “Your service and your hours of volunteerism are greatly appreciated by the residents of Clare. Thank you all for your service and for your commitment.”

Each year, the Council of the Municipality of Clare recognizes members from the volunteer fire departments who have served the Municipality for 15 years. Four volunteers received this honour in 2019.

The new chiefs and deputy chiefs of the fire departments in Clare will also be honoured during the next regular Council meeting on April 17, where they will receive their badges at the Council chambers at the municipal office.

Settled in 1768 and incorporated in 1879, the Municipality of Clare is located at the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia with approximately 8,000 residents.
