Join us for a night of paddleboarding on Seth Lake behind the Meteghan Lions Club and on Victor Lake by the CJA.

All equipment will be provided.

Sunday, August 15

6 p.m. departure


On August 15, participate in this fun Acadian tradition of making as much noise as possible to celebrate our Acadian pride! The tintamarre leaves at 6 p.m. from the Salmon River fire hall and the St. Bernard Church, and meets up at Université Sainte-Anne where participants can enjoy a drive-by concert. All participants must follow the rules of the road, including wearing a seatbelt.

No registration required. The drive-by concert will also be livestreamed on our Facebook page.

Saturday, August 14 to Sunday, August 15

Ages 16+

Participate in a fun beach volleyball tournament at Mavillette Beach Provincial Park on the weekend of August 14 and 15!

The tournament will be divided into 2 divisions: female teams and male teams.

In case of rain, the tournament will take place the following weekend (August 21 and 22).

Registration required: before Tuesday, August 10 (in teams of 2)

Ages 16+

Join us on July 24 for a fun spikeball tournament in the soccer field next to École secondaire de Clare!

The tournament will be divided into 3 divisions; female teams, male teams and mixed teams.

In case of rain, the tournament will take place on Sunday, July 25.

Registration required: before Wednesday, July 21 (in teams of 2)

Bring your team to the Clare Veterans Centre to participate in this popular activity that will test your knowledge of Clare!

Participants will answer a trivia questionnaire, followed by a photo hunt revolving around specific hints.

Participants must have access to a vehicle and a smartphone.

Registration required: before Monday, July 19 (in teams of 2 to 5 participants)

Ages 16+

Test your skills in this exciting event at Wentworth Park!

Participants ages 16 and older will run, kayak and cycle their way to the finish line.

Participants may bring their own equipment or use equipment provided by the Recreation Services.

The event begins at the Wentworth boat launch.

Thursday, July 8

6:30p.m. start

Come walk along the Belliveau Cove boardwalk, and pick up cards at checkpoints along the way in an effort to get the highest poker hand! The 3 best hands will each receive a prize. This event is open to all ages. In case of rain, this event will take place on Friday, July 9.

Registration required on day of event: please arrive early (6 p.m.)

Come join us at Mavillette Beach Provincial Park at low tide for a fun evening of kite flying! Participants may bring their own kite, or may borrow one of ours at no cost (must register in advance). In case of rain, the events will take place the following day (exception: rain date for

Come and have fun on our huge soapy slide! Our Slip N’ Slide will take place at Stella-Maris School on August 9, and at the Havelock Community Centre on August 11. This activity is open to all and will take place rain or shine.

Youth ages 12 and under are invited to participate in the traditional Acadian Children’s Parade!

The parade will start at Stella-Maris Church at 1:30 p.m. and will end at location tbd.

Prizes will be given for the best costumes!

Come explore your creative side at our 4-day art camp with local artist Sheila LeBlanc!

The camp will take place at the Clare Veterans Centre and is open to participants aged 6 to 11.

Our 4-day sports camp for youth aged 9 to 13 includes a variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, badminton, frisbee, golf, bowling and more!

A detailed itinerary with drop-off and pick-up locations will be provided to the parents of those who register.

Children aged 3 to 5 are invited to join us at the Clare Veterans Centre for fun-filled activities including reading, crafts, and games on Wednesday, July 7, 14, 21, and 28.

Compete against other seniors in a fun washer toss tournament!

On July 29, the tournament will be held in the ball field next to École secondaire de Clare (rain date: July 30). On August 17, the tournament will be held at the Havelock Community Centre (rain date: August 18).

A BBQ will be provided for lunch, but please bring your own chair.

Learn to surf this summer at Mavillette Beach!

North Star Surf Company will be offering a FREE surfing lesson on Saturday August 7 from 9a.m. to 12p.m.!

Participants aged 17 and older can register for surfing lessons taught by North Star Surf Company at Mavillette Beach Provincial Park!

A surfboard and wetsuit are provided, but participants must be able to swim. Spots are limited so prompt registration is strongly recommended. Registration required before Tuesday, August 3

From June 1st to August 23rd, 2021

Clare Recreation’s Summer Active Challenge is back this summer over a 12-week period, starting June 1st until August 23rd, 2021! By participating, you have the chance to win prizes! This challenge serves to encourage people to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, for at least 5 days per week!

Weekly draws: If you have reached your weekly goal of being physically active (30+ mins for 5+ days/week), contact us by phone or email before 4pm on Tuesdays and your name will be added to the weekly draw for a chance to win a prize! The first draw will take place on Tuesday June 8th at 4pm.

Grand Prize Draw: At the end of the 12 weeks (August 24th), we will have a draw for the grand prize! Your name will be entered in the Grand Prize Draw for each week you entered your name in the weekly draw. The more you participate, the more your chances of winning the grand prize increase!

Bring your yoga mat and join us for outdoor yoga sessions in partnership with Corbeau Yoga Studio below the second staircase at Mavillette Beach Provincial Park!

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to the following day (Wednesday).

This program is for anyone interested in starting an exercise program and needs help getting started. 

This 6-week program (2 hours per week) will allow you to try different activities, meet friends, learn about nutrition and have fun. 


This event has been postponed until Fall 2021, as per public health restrictions 


PICKLEBALL at the Clare Veterans Center - MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS

Participants will be asked to wear a mask upon entering & exiting the building, however you will be able to remove it during game play. Singles matches only, please no sharing of equipment (clean and sanitized equipment will be provided for onsite usage). Don't forget your water bottle and clean footwear!
