On Monday, January 15, 2024, the Municipality of Clare and Nova Scotia Health officially announced the expansion of the Clare Health Centre (CHC).

The municipality is self-funding the $7-million construction cost of the expansion and will receive an increased $64,000 monthly payment in operational funding from Nova Scotia Health to bring everything together.

Once completed, the expansion of over 8,000 square feet will enable the CHC's team of practicing physicians to grow to twelve and expand the healthcare services provided at the Centre. We are pleased that the expansion will allow every resident of the Municipality of Clare to have a family doctor. If you currently don't have a family doctor, please call 811 or visit needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca to be added to the Registry. You need to do this to ensure you have a family doctor.

The expansion will be completed by summer 2024. For more information, check out Nova Scotia Health's press release.
