The Municipality of the District of Clare is looking for cleaning/disinfecting of voting locations personnel, Deputy Returning Officers, Poll Clerks as well as Voter Help assistants for the 2020 Municipal and School Board Election.

The Municipality will be using electronic voting. Paper ballots will be available on Election Day only.

All applicants for DROs, poll clerks and assistants must have a good working knowledge of computers.

The day for nominations of candidates for the 2020 Municipal Elections for municipal councillors and for members of ‘Le Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP)’ has been set for Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Nomination forms will be available at the Municipal Office as of August 17 and nominations will be received by Returning Officer Pam Doucet from Thursday, August 27, to Friday, September, 4, 2020, by appointment and Tuesday, September 8, 2020, until 5:00 p.m.

The preliminary list of electors has been prepared for the upcoming municipal and school board elections in Clare on October 17, 2020. The Returning Officer Pam Doucet may make additions or corrections to the list upon application in person, by telephone, fax, e-mail, or by mail. As per the directives of the Nova Scotia Government, as of July 31, 2020 non-medical masks are mandatory in parts of offices where municipal government services are offered to the public.

Children under two are exempt, as well children aged two to four when their parent or caregiver cannot get them to wear a mask. People with a valid medical reason for not wearing a mask are also exempt.
