Located in Southwest Nova Scotia, approximately 300 km from the city of Halifax, the Municipality of Clare is situated on St. Mary’s Bay. It is home to more than 25 small villages between the municipalities of Digby and Yarmouth. Clare has a population of more than 8,000 inhabitants.

Working towards a vision of becoming a more sustainable community, the Municipality of the District of Clare created the "Clare Energy Concept" in 2005. Funding was secured to conduct an energy audit of the Municipality, identify possible renewable energy projects and outline an implementation plan.

The Municipality of Clare is pleased to present a balanced budget in the amount of $14,460,751 for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
